One Borough Festival

The One Borough Festival is back and bringing summer feel good vibes to our community and Summer of festivals’ family. The festival will include live music, dance performances, family shows, classic cars, and more. You will still see flavours of our popular past Summer of festivals’ events such as the Roundhouse Music Festival and the Steam & Cider Fair.

Our biggest festival of the year is back and this time it's bringing the best from all your favourite festivals with it - so there will be classic cars from the Steam and Cider Fair, and tribute and rock 'n' roll entertainment from Roundhouse Music Festival all wrapped up in one big community fun day.....and the best part?

It's FREE entry!

Bring your own picnic (no alcohol) and enjoy the the festivities!

Entry Conditions

To ensure visitors have a safe and enjoyable day at the event following entry conditions apply:

  • No alcohol brought on site (licensed bar is at the event)
  • Free water on site - bring your own bottle to re-fill
  • No weapons or tools on site
  • No glass on site
  • No unsealed bottles
  • No gazebos and BBQs (folding chairs are permitted)
  • No fireworks, pyrotechnics and smoke devices
  • No uncontrolled or dangerous dogs on site
  • Keep dogs on a lead at all times
  • Do not leave pets in vehicles
  • No drones on site
  • No driving on site unless in the permitted hours with a security escort
  • In permitted hours the speed limit is 5mph with hazard lights on
  • Please keep children with you at all times
  • Searches may be undertaken
  • Photography and film will be taken please see signage

Official event photography and filming will take place and will be used for all marketing and communication purposes. Photo consent forms will be completed for close-up shots of children. Please contact the Information Point if you have any concerns.

Access and Facilities

Parking

There is public car parking on site with a £2 charge to park your vehicle in the event car park. Access via Margery Road and no vehicle to be left on site after the event.

Blue Badge Holders

Free blue badge parking on site on grass.

Public Transport

The park has two transport connections serviced by the District line via Becontree station which is a 19 minute walk from the venue and Dagenham Heathway station which is a 28 minute walk from the venue. The park is also connected by London Buses via the EL2, 5, 173 and 62 with a short walk (10-20 mins) to the park.

Accessibility

Valence Park is a relatively flat site on grass with hard standing paths. The event has a disabled viewing platform and a hearing loop is available on site.

Facilities

The site has toilets and baby change. There is a fully accessible facility with changing area, shower and toilet with ramped access and a hoist. For assistance during the event, please visit the Information Point. First Aid on site is located near the Information Point. Families attending are encouraged to visit the Information Point in order to gain a wristband in case children or vulnerable adults become separated from your group.

There is no accommodation on site, however, we have a number of local accommodation within a short distance. Travelodge Premier Inn

The fan favourite element of the Steam & Cider Fair is back and this time it's coming to the One Borough Festival, so if you have a classic car, we would love for you to showcase it at the One Borough Festival for FREE! Catering at the festival

This festival usually attracts around 7,000 residents so if you would like to cater at the festival please complete the below form and return to summeroffestivals@lbbd.gov.uk

You would need to provide the following documentation: 

  • Food Safety Management System based on HACCP Principles (SFBB or equivalent)
  • Risk assessment document for the operation of all catering units
  • Public Liability insurance (£5 million minimum)
  • Proof of local authority registration of all units and current hygiene rating
  • Food hygiene certificates for all staff handling food
  • Price list
