1. If/when a claim is accepted and based on the insurance policy, leaseholder owner-occupiers of the building will be covered for alternative accommodation, and as such they should seek accommodation and hold any relevant receipts to be considered as part of the claim.

What help can I expect from the council? 

The council is working behind the scenes with all parties involved to come to a resolution as soon as possible in terms of insurance.

Block Management UK Ltd and freeholder insurance have committed to providing updates for residents as soon as possible.

As onward accommodation costs for owner-occupiers are likely to be covered by insurance, this is the council’s current focus.

We can also help with issues like replacing documents, wider welfare support and will be distributing any Go Fund Me contributions between all residents of the block, regardless of whether they are tenants or leaseholders.
