The Gambling Act 2005

As licensing authority for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, this council is required under s.349 of the act to prepare and publish, every three years, a statement of the licensing principles it proposes to apply in exercising its functions under the act. This is commonly known as the statement of licensing policy.

The Barking and Dagenham Statement of gambling licensing policy sets out how this authority intends to exercise its functions under the act, for the next three years. First published in 2007, this latest draft revision has been prepared having regard to the act, secondary regulations, and the Commission’s Guidance to Local Licensing Authorities (5th Edition published September 2015). This policy was adopted by the full Council Assembly.
