Local care providers who have staff working or living in Barking and Dagenham will be able to bid for up to £1,500 (per organisation) to help their staff with living costs
The cost of living crisis is affecting everyone. Heating, food, petrol and everyday essentials have never been more expensive, and wages just cannot keep up. The council have been working with partners in the voluntary sector, local charities, and community and faith groups to try and help support as many of our residents as we can. We have also been trying to find ways in which we can support our local providers and workers on low incomes and are pleased to say that we have identified some funding that we can use to help care staff during these tough times.
Local care providers who have staff working or living in Barking and Dagenham will be able to bid for up to £1,500 (per organisation), which could be used to help buy food vouchers, top up travel cards for staff to get to and from work, help with fuel, childcare or essentials for staff who have babies or young children (nappies, milk, food).
The online application form is now open and this funding will be available from June 2023. We will close the application on Friday 26 May.
Please be aware that if your bid is successful, we will expect to see evidence of how the money has been spent (for example: receipts, invoices, bank statements). This money is not to support your business but to support your staff.
