An estate agent in Barking and Dagenham has been fined for the third time in as many years – this time for failing to publicise its’ letting fees and information about its’ redress scheme online.

AMBI Investments Ltd, trading as Primelodge Estates, was found in breach of section 83 (1) of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and fined £5,000 at a hearing of the first-tier tribunal of the General Regulatory Chamber on Friday, 19 July. 

The Longbridge Road business had previously been fined £10,000 in 2017 for a similar breach, and in October last year it was penalised a further £7,000 for failing to apply for a private landlord licence for a property it managed. 

It has been mandatory for private landlords in the borough to purchase a licence from the council since 2014 and in May this year the Government agreed to a further five-year borough wide scheme in Barking and Dagenham.
