Savour the summer sun at the seaside in Southend - for free!

Residents in Barking and Dagenham can enjoy a free trip to Southend this summer.

A specially chartered C2C train will depart from Barking and Dagenham Dock stations on Sunday, 11 August.

The trip, which is being supported by the rail provider, will leave Barking station shortly after 9am and depart from Southend Central station just before 5.30pm.

The family-friendly event is being organised by the Dagenham group Reede Road Tenants and Residents Association (TRA).

Councillor Darren Rodwell, Leader of Barking and Dagenham Council, said: “This is a fantastic annual event and I’m delighted that C2C continue to support this much loved family trip to the seaside.

“It’s a great way for people to meet other residents who live and share their borough, so I’d encourage everyone to come along and join in the fun day out – even if we can’t guarantee sun.”

To book free train tickets, residents should contact the Reede Road TRA on 07961477056.
