Residents of Barking and Dagenham who may have lost their jobs during the pandemic or may be considering a career change are able to find out about opportunities available at a career change online session.
On the day, participants will be able to find out about starting their own business, support available from the Barking Enterprise Centre, Job Centre Plus and local job opportunities available.
In addition, employers including the Met Police, the Care sector and Barking Riverside London will be available to talk about jobs on offer and how to apply.
Councillor Sade Bright, Cabinet Member for Employment, Skills and Aspiration, said: “Now more than ever, we know that the pandemic has impacted on residents in more ways than one.
“Whether its people losing their jobs or struggling with their finances, this career session is a good place to start and I hope residents can take advantage of this opportunity.
“At difficult times like this, our residents can still get help and support through our Community Food clubs, the job shops and the Homes and Money Hub – do get in touch.”
The event will take place online on Wednesday 5 August from 2 to 4pm using Microsoft Teams.
