Residents across Barking and Dagenham will now be able to access a range of services including education, jobs and skills and healthy lifestyles opportunities all under one roof – when a new service opens at the Adult College campus in Dagenham.
The Parsloes Healthy Hub will create fantastic opportunities for residents to improve their lives whilst enjoying fun, informative workshops and get free advice from a range of professionals.
The Adult College currently offers a range of courses for personal development, work or leisure, Assertiveness and Speaking with Confidence, Stress Management, Self-care for Carers, Managing Anxiety and Aromatherapy.
Councillor Sade Bright, Cabinet Member for Employment, Skills and Aspiration, is urging local people to pop into the launch event this Wednesday. She said: “We recognise the links between education and physical and mental wellbeing and this initiative will bring employment, work and skills and healthy lifestyle opportunities closer to residents.
“The service will see the council, its partners and community organisations working together to deliver a range of services.”
The official launch will be on Wednesday 19 February from 10.15am until 2.30pm. Further information is available on the Healthy Hub launch event page.
