Residents of Barking and Dagenham on the lookout for their next job are being encouraged to get in touch with the council’s job shop to take advantage of a number of jobs available this week.
This week’s vacancies include a shop floor assistant for a cash and carry in Rainham, warehouse operative in South Ockendon and production packers in Barking. Other roles include a recycling operative in Dagenham, a recruitment consultant based in Upminster, security officers to work in the Dagenham Heathway Mall, two Level 3 nursery practitioners and a sales and lettings negotiator based in Manor Park.
Residents interested in working in construction and the care sector will be please that there are vacancies for a shutter carpenter to work in Barking Riverside (Blue CSCS required), Driver support and night support workers to work in Dagenham, Romford, Chingford and South Woodford. Other roles available include a kitchen and a housekeeping assistant in a Dagenham care home, a domiciliary care worker, carers, care assistants and home care assistants.
For those interested in a career with the Met Police, the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship and the Degree holder entry programme are still open.
Cllr Sade Bright, Cabinet Member for Employment, Skills and Aspiration, said: “Despite the pandemic, our staff at the job shops are doing their best and working closely with a number of employers to make sure that our residents have access to a range of employment and training opportunities.
“I will urge residents to please take time to register with the job shop as quite a number of jobs become available every Monday and there is always something for everyone.”
