Residents of Barking and Dagenham who are not used to the digital world are being encouraged and supported to give it a go thanks to a new council initiative.

 

The council has partnered with Citizens Online, a digital skills charity, to provide resources and training to residents. The programme pairs learners with volunteers who help them to develop their digital skills – whether that’s communicating online through sending and receiving emails, creating a CV or something else. 

Whether you are a complete beginner or just want to brush up your skills, there is something for everyone. The service offers free and friendly support, so please do get in touch.

Cllr Sade Bright, Cabinet Member for Employment, Skills and Aspiration, said: “The pandemic has seen a lot of us become reliant on the internet now more than ever. Whether its ordering things online, writing to or reading messages from family, paying bills or applying for a job, the internet has become an important part of our lives.
