Local graduates invited to find out about an internship with the council

Are you a resident of Barking and Dagenham and a graduate and have you thought about working for your local council?

If yes, we’re offering care leavers and residents the opportunity to join our 3-month Internship Programme as a Data and Project Officer.

The role will involve analysing data to support planning for services and make a real difference to the lives of our residents. The successful applicant will work with colleagues to make relevant information available across all our buildings.

Applications are welcome from people of all backgrounds and disciplines. All we ask is that they have an undergraduate degree, have the right to work in the UK and are a resident or a Barking and Dagenham care leaver.

Councillor Sade Bright, Cabinet Member for Employment, Skills and Aspiration, said: “I am extremely proud that we have been able to offer this exciting opportunity to our borough’s residents. It will enable them to acquire much needed skills and experience while getting paid for it.

“I look forward to meeting interested applicants at the Information Open Day and good luck with your application.”

Interested residents and employees are invited to an Information Day on Monday 13 December 2021 at 11am. To register for the open day, they should email vashti.thorne@lbbd.gov.uk by 5pm on 8 December 2021. Full joining instructions will be sent prior to the session.
