Residents of Barking and Dagenham are being encouraged to attend and have their say at the council’s Safer Neighbourhood Board.
The meeting, which takes place on Thursday 8 September from 6pm at Dagenham and Redbridge Football club, will see the council joined by senior officers from the local police.
The focus of the meeting will be on three key areas; Barking Town Centre, violence against women and girls and a crime update from the police.
Residents will be able to put their questions to an expert panel, including:
• Chief Inspector Louise Jackson
• Inspector Dan Bacon
• Inspector Rehan Azam
Councillor Syed Ghani, Cabinet Member for Enforcement and Community Safety said: “This is a perfect opportunity for residents to let the council and police know about any concerns that they may have.
“Between the council and the police, we all have to do our bit, but we need the help of residents to ensure that we’re addressing the issues that are important to them. I look forward to meeting lots of residents at the meeting.”
If residents would like to attend the meeting, they should email the council’s Community Safety team on csp@lbbd.gov.uk.
