The free event will take place between 10am and 12-midday and offer job seekers, who are interested in working within a nursery or childcare setting, the chance to speak with recruiters, apply for vacancies or find out how to access relevant training courses.
In total 10 employers will be in attendance, including Chestnut nurseries, LEYF nurseries, Abbey Nursery, and Leaping Toads.
Attendees can also find out more about Barking and Dagenham Council’s Job Shop, which can help with CV writing, offering tailored one-to-one career advice and interview advice.
The event, jointly hosted by Barking and Dagenham Council and Job Centre Plus, is the first early years and childcare specific jobs fair event to be held in the borough.
Councillor Sade Bright, Cabinet Member for Employment, Skills & Aspiration, said: “This event is perfect for anyone who is interested in working in the childcare sector and I would encourage anyone with that goal to come along.
“As well being able to walk in and apply for jobs there and then, people will be able to get tailored advice in how to achieve their career goals as well as find out what training and qualifications are needed.”
There’s no need to register, just turn up on the day or alternatively you can contact vacancies@lbbd.gov.uk for more details.
