Construction jobs available in Barking and Dagenham

Anyone with an interest in a career in construction is being urged to speak to Barking and Dagenham Council’s Job shops to help fill vacancies.

From brickies and scaffolders, to plumbers, plasterers and labourers, there is something for everyone with work taking place across the borough at sites including Barking Riverside, Beam Park, and Eastbrook Film Studios.

People with all levels of experience are being sought, from apprenticeships through to experienced, full and part-qualified construction professionals.

For those with no experience, the council’s Jobshop brokers can help arrange site visits and work experience, as well as offer training packages to help kickstart a career in construction.

Applicants will receive full application support and an introduction directly with their prospective employer.

Councillor Sade Bright, Cabinet Member for Employment, Skills and Aspiration, said: “Barking and Dagenham is the capital’s growth opportunity and we’ve always been determined to make sure that as we unlock our borough’s potential, our local residents are at the front of the queue to benefit from that.

“That’s why we’re calling on all residents, whether they work in the sector already or just have an interest, to come and speak to us and let us help you start or take the next step in your career in construction, right here in Barking and Dagenham.”

To discuss the opportunities available, please email a CV to construction@lbbd.gov.uk or drop-in to the Jobshop at Dagenham Library or Barking Learning Centre and speak to an advisor.
