Last night we celebrated our borough’s women and girls at the eighth Women's Empowerment Awards which took place at Dagenham and Redbridge Football Club. The event was a celebration of local women who have made outstanding contributions in a whole range of fields and industries.
The awards recognised women across nine categories, who have worked tirelessly to empower themselves and others, and who have made a significant impact in their communities.
Councillor Sade Bright, Cabinet Member for Employment, Skills & Aspiration, said "It's an honour to celebrate the achievements of these incredible women who are making a difference in our borough. Women's empowerment is crucial, and we need to continue to recognise and support women who are making positive changes. I hope tonight really inspires the next generation of girls here in Barking and Dagenham"
