Residents across the borough are invited to come along to a variety of fun and festive activities over the coming weeks.

The countdown for a sparkling Christmas in Barking and Dagenham kicks off with Carols and a Christmas lights switch-on taking place on Tuesday 3 December, 3.30pm to 5.30pm at CU London in Dagenham, and Wednesday 4 December, 3.30pm to 5.30pm at Barking Town Square.

The family fun continues with a variety of events at Valence House Museum including Christmas cupcake decorating on Saturday 7 December, 11am – 12.30pm and 2pm – 3.30pm, and the popular Valence Christmas Market returns this year on 14 December, 10 – 4pm where residents can browse the stalls and support local businesses. There’ll also be an opportunity to meet Santa in his Grotto.

Pop over to Eastbury Manor House for the Festive Fayre on Sunday 8 December, 11am – 4pm. Explore over 20 stalls and get in some Christmas gift shopping, while exploring the Manor House. Families will also have the opportunity to meet a Victorian Father Christmas and receive a special gift – slots are limited and must be booked on the Eastbury Manor House website.

Councillor Saima Ashraf, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Community Leadership and Engagement, said: “We’re looking forward to bringing the community together this festive season to enjoy the wonderful events taking place right here in the borough. It’s an absolute joy to see so many residents come together during this special time of year.”
