I wanted to just share how much the loss of our Queen has given such hope in the saddest of times..
Our country has been led with such respect and honour. But also, the sense of warmth and love. A comfort of recognising our Queen, her presence and grace, the Christmas Day tradition of her speech, the words of reassurance and hope in such frightening times with the pandemic. Being a royalist or not, the death of our longest reigning monarch, has united a nation in the sense of loss and we grieve together.
Then, the recognition of her not just being a familiar to all of us as our Queen, but to see her children, grandchilddren, family, honour her with such regard. Feeling the connection of her being, just one of us. A mother, Nanna, and her family grieving the loss of their matriarch, we can all feel a connection in their loss. I for one have been on a journey with my own loss and understanding my grieving process over the last week. I have felt able to release some pain and this has been such a big step for me, and I'm sure for many. Its a path we are navigating together, we are not alone and as a nation, we come together like no other.
We are proud of our country, our monarchy and our Queen was the heart of this.
Thankyou for your service Ma'am, for being such a light in the darkest days, for leading us through the last 7 decades with a firm hand and warm smile. Long may you reign over us, God Save Our Queen
