Text Message Scam

We are aware of a text message scam which is asking people to pay for a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) by following a web link. We do not issue PCNs via text message, we only issue these at the vehicle or by post. Please only make payments for PCNs by following the instructions provided on the documents that we issue.

How to pay your penalty charge notice, also known as a parking ticket, and what you'll need with you to do it. Your PCN reference will start with either 'BZ' or 'BU'.

You will need your PCN reference number and vehicle registration number.

When making your payment online, make sure that you only press the payment button once and do not refresh your browser while the payment is processing.

If your PCN reference does not start with the letters BU or BZ, it wasn’t issued by us, and you will need to contact the correct authority to submit a challenge or to make a payment.
