The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity that works with adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs to support individuals to develop their skills for greater independence.
They are working in partnership with the council to develop and deliver a Shared Lives Scheme. Shared Lives is most easily understood as a support service for adults with social care needs.
Grace Eyre Shared Lives Scheme is looking to recruit paid carers to provide a service within their own home in Barking and Dagenham. The care that they can provide is as follows:
The Shared Lives scheme work with adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs and match them with our carers. Experience is not essential as you will receive full training.
Shared Lives Carers are self-employed and are paid between £400 and £600 a week for each person they support. There are also tax benefits as well, such as reduction of council tax and not having to pay the bedroom tax.
In order to become a carer you need a commitment to make a difference in a vulnerable adults life.
Again, experience is not essential as you will receive full training. Grace Eyre has had great success developing this service is Lambeth and across Sussex.
