Barking Town Centre Market is open from 9am to 5pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout the year.

To trade in the market, you will need:

• a proper market stall frame - we do not currently provide these for hire but may provide gazebos and display tables subject to availability
• stall cover sheets and clips, etc. to secure the sheet to the frame
• display stands, tables, etc.
• or a purpose built or adapted vehicle, trailer or stand
• all the following documents - Public liability insurance, proof of right to work in UK, photo ID, National insurance number, proof of address in last 3 months

There are two types of licence available if you wish to trade at the Market:

1. A casual licence permits trading on a one-off, occasional or ad hoc basis and may be granted on application to the Market Manger on or before the day of intended trade and on payment of the pitch rental fee.
2. A regular licence permits ongoing trading on the days and in the locations specified in the licence and may be granted on application and payment of three week’s pitch rental fees in advance in addition to the payment of pitch rental fees on each day of trading.

Fees

Pitch sizes are all 3M x 4.5M (10ft x 15ft).

Fees can only be paid by card payment to a Market Officer.

Casual licence

Regular licence

Before the grant of a regular licence, you will need to pay three weeks’ pitch rental fees in advance for the days you wish to trade. You must then pay the daily fee on each day that you trade.

Regular licence holders are liable for payment of pitch fees for every day for which they are licensed to trade, even if they do not in fact trade on any day, unless agreed in advance by the Market Manager.
