The Idling Action Project, jointly led by Camden Council and City of London Corporation, and supported by the Mayor of London, has been running since 2016. It sees Barking and Dagenham Council and 30 other London councils joining forces in a bid to cut dangerous vehicle emissions.
A Dagenham resident has been fined over £600 after he failed to provide the details of the driver who was caught dropping a cigarette on the borough’s streets.

Barking and Dagenham Council’s children services has been given a clean bill of health following an inspection visit by Ofsted in May.
The feedback was contained in a letter received on Thursday 15 July, after a visit by Ofsted inspectors to the council’s children’s services on 26 and 27 May this year.
Antisocial behaviour in Barking Town Centre is a major concern and to tackle it, the council and police are working together by holding regular Days of Action.
