A new scheme by Barking and Dagenham Council is helping people with learning disabilities, autism and long-term health conditions into work.

Barking and Dagenham Council is asking people to ‘do one thing’ to improve their financial wellbeing as part of the Money and Pensions Service’s Talk Money Week.

Held from 4 - 8 November, Talk Money Week aims to reduce the stigma around money by encouraging conversations among everyone, from families and friends to colleagues and communities.

Barking and Dagenham parks are ranked fourth best across 25 participating London boroughs in the latest 2024 Good Parks for London report.

The report looks at how London boroughs are performing against ten assessment Good Parks criteria, including public satisfaction, events, supporting nature, community involvement, sustainability, strategic planning and more. 

Ahead of Halloween and Bonfire night, Barking and Dagenham Council’s Trading Standards conducted several test purchasing operations.

Throughout the week, residents are being reminded that they can access support if they’re struggling. Whether it’s help with finances, food, employment, wellbeing or something else – there’s a range of support available online and in person at Community Hubs based locally across the borough.
